Description Position Summary: Assist Manager in directing custodial service operations and department staff. Responsible for all departmental cleaning, office moves, classroom set-up and banquet/event set-up. Responsible for light maintenance duties for weekend activities. Guide and assign duties to department’s Lead.

Essential Job Functions:
1. Assist Manager in department operation and assign tasks to staff responsible for all set-ups, office relocations, cleaning and mail runs to and from the post office. Assist manager to interview, coach and train employees.
2. Facilitate inspections and maintain quality control of department operation.
3. Provide on-going safety training for staff on proper handling of chemicals, power equipment and tools of the department.
4. Maintain multiple work orders under all weather conditions to clean, dust, mop and vacuum offices, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, event space and break rooms. Respond to unexpected requests to guide the department employees.
5. Recognize basic maintenance issues and alert appropriate department for resolution.
6. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
7. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements including all safety guidelines.
8. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.

Non-Essential Job Functions:
1. Supply and regularly maintain accurate and up-to-date MSDS books and labels.
2. Assist with pest control, as needed.
3. Serve as a back-up to Manager, during an absence or as needed.

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent

1. 1-year leadership experience supervising a custodial staff.
2. 2-3 years hands-on custodial and chemical-use experience.
3. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including active listening skills, to interact and collaborate with individuals at all levels within the organization.
4. Exceptional customer service skills with the demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines.
5. Demonstrated safety management experience, including use of chemicals and cleaning equipment operation.

Computer Skills: Basic end user of MS Office: MS Word, MS Outlook

Certificates & Licenses: Chauffeur’s Driver’s License

Other: Pest Control Certification, preferred but not required
