Title Utility Services Lead

Description Position Summary: Assist, train and direct the work of the utility/mover’s team while modeling superior customer service and aiding guests on campus. Provide back-up support to the department supervisor and management team.

Essential Job Functions:
1. In conjunction with supervisor, lead and assist in department operation. Assign tasks to staff responsible for setups, office relocations, cleaning and mail runs to the post office.
2. Create and implement a campus wide floor care maintenance program, assigning work task to employees. Assist and cross train as required.
3. Maintain and operate floor care equipment to safely clean floors. Work included but not limited to the following: Stripping, waxing, buffing and carpet extraction.
4. Keep accurate inventory of all floorcare chemicals and supplies and keep supervisor informed of needs.
5. Maintain clean and organized table and chair inventory in determined storage areas.
6. Ability to carry out the work functions of a BEO, (Banquet Event Order) and perform/direct/assist personnel as needed as it pertains to setup and cleaning requirements before and after the event
7. Regular and reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned schedule. – this position is not a remote or telecommute position.
8. Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures per the guidebook including all safety requirements and guidelines.
9. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
10. Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance and paid off request.
11. Availability to assist unexpected request which may arise outside regular working hours.

Non-Essential Job Functions:
1. Work overtime, evenings and holidays as required to perform job functions.
2. Complete as required additional projects that arise or as assigned.

High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.

Computer Skills:
• Basic end user of a keyboard, capable of data entry/ inputting information in the electronic time management system.


1. One to two years preferred experience in a lead position.
2. Former custodial and cleaner experience.
3. Proven ability to problem-solve individually while guiding others on best practices.
4. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills to successfully interact with all levels of the organization.

Certificates & Licenses:

Chauffeur’s License or able to obtain within 30 days of employment
