Description Job Title: SILENT UNITY PRAYER MINISTRY ASSOCIATE

Schedules: 2nd and 3rd shift

Position Summary: Responsible to prayer affirmatively in a consistently compassionate manner with those who call the Silent Unity Prayer Ministry.
Competency Statement(s):

Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:
1. Active attendance/participation in a Unity community or other New Thought organization.
2. Demonstrated prayer practices and able to explain the purpose of prayer consistent with Unity teaching
3. Participates in a structured spiritual education program and/or self-study practice. Completion of a minimum of two spiritual and enrichment courses (SEE), preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of Unity teachings with the ability to recognize and verbalize the difference between prayer support and spiritual counseling.
5. Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills; established active listening skills.
6. Demonstrated professional and calm demeanor while involved in repetitive emotionally challenging or mentally intensive circumstances.
7. Two years inbound call center experience, preferred.

Computer Skills:
1. Minimum proficient end-user of a computer, including keyboard and mouse.
2. Minimum basic end-user of MS windows environment: MS Word.
3. Minimum basic end-user of database systems.

Certificates & Licenses: Completion of Unity Chaplain Training and one year chaplain experience, preferred.

Other:
1. Complete pre-employment skills and assessment test with acceptable results: MS Word, Following Verbal Instructions and 16PF personality assessment.
2. Successfully attend all prerequisite initial training classes and demonstrate the ability to meet the prayer ministry expectations, in order to graduate from the training.
3. Prior prayer associate or prayer volunteer experience, preferred.
4. Fluent Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred, when indicated in job posting. Complete pre-employment Spanish – English verbal and written translation skills test.


Essential Job Functions: (functions essential to the job)
1. Regular Attendance.
2. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including all safety guidelines.
3. Utilize electronic time management system to input time and attendance.
4. Accept and respond within procedures to in-bound requests for prayer from individual’s representing all religious affiliations and spiritual beliefs.
5. Provide quality-focused and specific prayer responses and enter caller’s requests into the database.
6. Sustain the message of Silent Unity by following all departmental guidelines.
7. Rotate and participate in the prayer vigil, as scheduled.
8. Transfer calls to the appropriate service department.
9. Maintain the set up and clean up of workstations, before and after the assigned shift.

Non-Essential Job Functions: (Functions specific to an individual position)
1. Process and appropriately respond to internet prayer requests (IPR), as assigned.
