Description Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in major producing unit or assigned area(s) by performing the following duties. This position will have the responsibility to:
• Perform all electrical repairs and PMs necessary to maintain all operating and service equipment
• Make repairs and adjustments for proper operation and maintenance of overhead cranes, conveyors, building, and mobile equipment
• Repair, replace, install, and dismantle assembles
• Adjusts, maintains and lubricates motors, generators, exciter sets, control panels, relays, interlocking control systems, circuit breakers, static switching units, and electronic devices
• Applies practical knowledge of AC/DC electrical principles and basic industrial electronics
• Ability to interpret and analyze electrical blueprints, schematic and wiring diagrams
• Assembles and aligns pinions, gears, bearings, couplings, and shifts along with repairs and installs on pneumatic and hydraulic valves.
High school diploma or GED required. Completed electrical apprenticeship preferred. Five years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting strongly preferred.
Applicants must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work shift work including weekends and holidays are required. Excellent pay and benefit package.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma preferred, GED minimum required.  Must be able to pass qualifying electrical maintenance exam. 

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blue prints, electrical schematics operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows Operating System, Microsoft Word and Excel software and Manufacturing software. 

 

Tools & Equipment:  Electrical and electronic testing equipment, drill press, power saw, heating and burning equipment, welding equipment, portable power tools and hand tools, measuring devices, pipe cutting, bending and threading equipment, lubricating equipment, hydraulic jacks, safety devices, testing equipment, scaffolds, plant mechanical equipment, cranes, mobile equipment, spare parts, lubricants, cleaning agents and pipes/hoses.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places; extreme heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with noise level in some areas high.
