The Area Operations Manager (AOM) will be a member of the management team and will work as a part of a dynamic, socially minded entrepreneurial team. This individual will play a critical role in managing and ensuring execution of initiatives at the school level and managing the financial impact of these decisions. 

This position will serve as a liaison between the internal operations team and the external school-facing team and will provide high-level customer service to our largest accounts with a focus on long-term retention. The AOM will support school cafeteria managers in the ordering process, advising on order analysis and waste management and manage all customer service issues that arise. The AOM will promote nutrition education and staff, student and parent engagement in the school meals program, planning outreach initiatives and events. This person will interact with the Customer Success Coordinator team and Regional Partnership Manager in the context of maintaining a superior experience for our school partners and so will combine big picture analytics with day to day communications. This person will report to the Programs & Services Manager.

 

  • Consistent communication with school leaders, school service staff, school partnership teams and culinary center personnel about all issues relating to school operations
  • Dashboard – coordinate with SCA, Memphis to track participation, fulfilment rates and highlights/lowlights.
  • Supporting commodity and FFV program planning, ordering, financial tracking, optimize use of available funds. coordinate with SCA, Memphis to ensure consistent management of FFV across markets
  • Solicit and Incorporate school administration and student/parent feedback to provide optimal service and meals through meal tasting throughout the year, quarterly surveys
  • Prepare periodic presentations to school management on participation, trends and reporting progress
  • Effectively communicate to Management any issues or concerns that may affect customer satisfaction, food safety or quality Operations
  • Engage school students, parents and staff in nutrition education & outreach and ethical marketing of healthy school meals. Supporting school with samplings, parent nights, student orientation, staff trainings, feedback activities, etc.
  • Ensure food quality standards by showing a commitment to quality from production to presentation of the final product
  • Cross-check/validate accurate monthly invoice for Revolution Foods’ controller to submit to schools
  • Support schools to maintain a food safe environment, complying with State, Federal and Revolution Foods food safety policies
  • Support school managers to complete orders, ensuring the highest student satisfaction and most stringent compliance regulations
Requirements
  • Experience in the K-12 Food Service system highly desired
  • Commitment to the Revolution Foods mission that all children will have access to nutritious, tasty food to support the development of healthy minds and bodies
  • Entrepreneurial minded, coupled with an energetic and positive spirit, flexibility, a sense of humor, and a willingness to jump into any role at a moment’s notice
  • A positive attitude and ability to motivate, inspire and positively communicate goals and objectives to our global network of team members
  • A “big picture” thinker who can also manage small details accurately and brings solid analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines
  • Advanced computer and math skills, including Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to work independently, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success in project management and cross functional roles/projects
  • Spanish Bilingual a plus
  • Food handlers certification mandatory, ServSafe preferred
