Title Sr. Account Manager, Food Service Sales

The Senior Account Manager, Food Service Sales will be responsible for developing, managing and executing the sales and customer acquisition strategy for this category.  The Lead will manage and execute all relationships and negotiations with our distributor customers as well as oversee our sales team members who support this channel.  She or he will be responsible for ensuring accurate forecasting, pipeline management and contracts with all customers.   

Primary Responsibilities

In your role as a Senior Account Manager, Food Service Sales at Revolution Foods you will be part of our success by:

  • Directing the execution of category strategies and leading alignment with customers’ priorities to build partnerships
  • Develop and manage sales pipeline for product sales into K-12 School Districts
  • Initiating the strategic/conceptual positioning of Revolution Foods as thought leaders in the industry, through sales programs based on consumer insights
  • Leading all teams’ development and directing priorities, and being accountable for driving sales goals and profit objectives

Operator

  • Sell incremental volume into operators in applicable markets
  • Keep and prioritize market's Operator Opportunity Pipeline
  • Work in conjunction with broker, buyer or cross functional teams at the operator level to grow our priority products, categories, and segments.

Distributor

  • Keep and prioritize market's Distributor Opportunity Pipeline
  • Work in conjunction with broker, buyer or cross functional teams at the distributor level to grow our priority products, categories, and segments.
  • Present and negotiate local marketing programs
  • Build relationship with key decision makers at distributors in the assigned market
  • Identify and sell incremental volume opportunities and conversions
  • Implement corporate driven initiatives
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with Key distributor partners with focus on sales results, new item performance, and growth opportunities

Broker

  • Work in conjunction with broker team at the distributor & operator level to grow our priority products, categories, and segments.
  • Work with VP Business Development and other members of the leadership team to coordinate and prioritize opportunity pipeline.
  • Help resolve selling obstacles that the brokers may run into.
  • Train broker team on Revolution Foods initiatives to include selling tools, promotional execution, and new products

Manufacturer

  • Partner with R&D as well as technical services
  • Work with sales operations and sales development to prioritize the opportunity pipeline
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure product meets the needs of the customer
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously

Noncommercial

  • Work in conjunction with broker team at the operator level to grow our priority products, categories, and segments.
  • Identify and build plan to sell non-compliant non-commercial accounts
  • Build relationships with key noncommercial drivers in market to maximize volume opportunities

School business

  • Work with broker school team to identify and sell new business opportunities
  • Work with Revolution Foods K-12 team to assist them in building relationships with key K-12 drivers in market to maximize volume opportunities

Financial Budgets

  • Meet travel and expense budget
  • Help resolve deduction issues in the market

Miscellaneous

  • Work with trade to maximize growth and profitability in your market
  • Work with marketing to maximize growth in your market.
  • Sell the "Right Mix" of volume across all focus product categories
Requirements

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Proactively build strong, collaborative relationships with other members of the Sales team, Brand, Operations, Finance, Accounting and all other groups.
  • Category Management experience within the K-12 sector.
  • Demonstrated successful sales history negotiating with distributor customers and meeting trade spend budget.
  • Possess strong understanding of trade spend and promotional strategy.
  • Be results oriented, able to complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner, and the ability to juggle priorities.
  • Have the ability to excel in a fast paced, high growth environment with an attitude focused on what’s possible.

Education/Training Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years outside sales or category management experience (Food Service, Food Service Manufacturing or Distributor Sales)
  • Minimum 3 years of K-12 specific sales experience
  • Consistently demonstrated years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, syndicated, POS and loyalty data

Details

  • Travel for this role is approximately 60-70%.
  • Revolution Foods Home Office is located in Oakland, California, though reporting to the home office is not required for this role.
