Title Human Resources Generalist/ Training & Projects Specialist

This is a hybrid role acting as the HR Generalist for our corporate office and the Training and Projects Specialist. The HR Generalist serves as a partner and liaison between Human Resources and home office operations to assist with employee related processes and administration. This includes employment, benefits, policy, procedures, ER issues, performance management, training coordination and compliance. Ensures timely administration and compliance with company policy. The position is responsible for supporting people related KPI’s, and administering human resource practices to meet objectives for Operations, Serves as an advocate, a change agent, employee champion, resource and coach of best practices. Required to coordinate team related programs and messages, assesses and anticipates HR-related needs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Under the guidance of the Human Resources Operations Manager, will plan, organize, and implement a range of training activities and lead other HR projects. This role has a large project-based component. Specific projects will change over time as current projects are completed.

• Actively participates in recruitment by attracting, assessing, selecting and on-boarding team members, ensuring full legal and contractual compliance. Seeks guidance and approval from HR Management before deterring from policy.

• Ensures regulatory compliance and partners with operations to identify and reduce legal risks. Escalates matters that may need legal review or additional input at a senior management level.

• Drives strategic and tactical planning in organizational development, culture, and capability development and performance management.

• Provides day-to-day performance management guidance in line with company policy and to police consistency and fairness. Meets with employees to provide general guidance and assistance and defers to managers as appropriate.

• Investigate, document and resolve common employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective findings, as necessary. Interviews complainant and witnesses as necessary, and makes recommendations.

• Responds to inquiries related to policies, protocol, procedures, benefits, and programs.

• Gathers data and supports KPI reporting to define specific performance expectations and outcomes.

• Responsible for delivering on-boarding and meeting all pre and post-employment requirements.

• Training – plan and execute management, HR and employee training sessions, including training the trainer, management training, soft skills training for employees and similar. Utilization of our Learning Management System (LMS), Alchemy system to set up, organize and verify training sessions.

• Work with organization to understand training and development needs for specific business, performance issues and/or across employee groups. Collaborate on efforts to meet business and compliance needs.

• Conduct surveys and participate in evaluation procedures. Provide recommendations for improvement. May document, copy and organize teaching materials.

Requirements

Required Experience and Education:

• 4-6 years of Human Resource Generalist experience and/or related experience working in a similar training or projects position. Experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred.

• BA/BS degree in Human Resources or a related field

• PHR, SPHR, SHRM certification is a plus.

• Experience that demonstrates a good working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including Federal and state employment laws, leave practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and project management.

• Demonstrates knowledge of common training techniques, employee engagement, organized delivery, and how to maintain control and timeliness of delivery. Previous experience in training, policy drafting and project management. Experience with Employee Handbook creation and implementation a plus.

• Prior experience working in a staff-heavy environment is preferred.

• Multi-unit experience and multi-state experience is required

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office, preparing presentations and using excel for reporting.

• Experience with Ulti Pro is preferred.

• Proven ability to maintain multiple projects and meet deadlines. High response rate is required of position.

• The ability to travel approx. 30% of the time is required.

• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good business acumen

• Ability to work independently and part of a collaborative environment.
