Title Product Development Specialist

Description

The Product Development Specialist is responsible for supporting recipe and meal creation using nutritional development software applications that meet Revolution Foods ingredient standards and budgetary guidelines. The Product Development Specialist is also responsible for the ordering and receiving of all products needed for recipe testing and is accountable for the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the corporate test kitchen. This position is based in our Oakland, CA office.

Responsibilites:

  • Data entry in NutriKids (nutritional) and Eatec (product cost) programs.
  • Coordinates and executes “hands-on” steps necessary for the menu/product processes including recipe validations, line trails, and any additional testing scenarios that may be deemed necessary
  • Prepares documentation for cost, nutrition, and commercialization review prior to menu showings.
  • Orders and receives all product required for recipe and meal creation/testing.
  • Manage R&D sample retention program
  • Assists Training Manager with preparation for roll-outs/field training.
  • Assists with needed photo-shoots for recipes and meals; supports Marketing Manager with preparation of collateral materials
  • Responsible and accountable for organization, sanitation, and cleanliness of test kitchen and equipment. 
  • Supports culinary team, as needed, with food preparation for product test, reviews and showings
  • Processes all Product Development invoices
Requirements
  • Culinary Degree or 5 years’ commensurate experience in food service.
  • Excellent knife skills, demonstrated familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and HACCP food safety standards.
  • ServSafe Food Handler certification required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of computer programs with a desire to learn Eatec and NutriKids software.
  • An unrelenting attention to detail.
  • Able to multitask, troubleshoot, and work within an environment with ever-changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills via email, in person and on the phone, both in one on one and team situations.
  • A self-starter who is able to work independently with little direction, and who’s confident enough to ask when clarification is needed.
