||QUALITY TECHNICIAN- 2ND SHIFT
Reports to: Quality & Sanitation Manager
Position location: Bluffton, IN
Position Scope: The QA Technician will work to facilitate an Intensely Different quality-based philosophy/vision by focusing on compliance to Quality produced products. This person will work with manufacturing to assure that the finished products are of the
highest quality. The QA Technician will assist in ensuring the Plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to established safety standards.
1. Inspecting/testing all finished and in-process products according to the specifications set forth in the Quality Standards.
2. Assisting the Quality & Sanitation Supervisor as needed.
3. Problem-solving issues in quality, food safety and production.
4. Communicating with all associates including supervisors and managers.
5. Exhibits behaviors that promote a positive work environment, relationships and personal integrity.
Tests all products on the hour and half hour and works closely with associates and supervisors to assure that all products meet our quality standards specifications.
Inspects finished bagged product every other hour from each of 12 packaging machines to ensure high quality.
When completing a change over, inspects lines for cross contamination by ensuring they have been cleaned properly.
Checks metal detectors once per shift to ensure they are working properly.
Records findings of each packaging machine and pick out area.
Ensures work area is kept clean and well-maintained and the lab equipment is calibrated at the beginning of each shift.
Responds immediately to deviations and held product. Held product should be checked within a 24 hour turn around.
Completes daily quality inspection sheets and records data on all quality checks in the computer.
Assists with trial runs on new product development.
Working with and assisting associates on clean-ups and inspecting the plant following the cleanup to ensure nothing was missed and everything was cleaned properly. Reporting any issues in a written document to management.
Dedicated to ensuring optimal food safety and responsible for enforcing SQF 2000 policies.
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge of Quality Control processes and Sanitation Standards relating to food manufacturing and handling.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required to climb stairs and work at elevated levels.
