Description

Harbor is seeking a clinician who assumes clinical responsibility for ongoing treatment of clients. Must be willing to work 1 evening a week. Harbor supports staff development and offers Clinical Supervision for staff seeking advanced licenses. Position is full time.

Job Duties:

  • Maintains clinical responsibility for individual, family and/or group counseling of clients.
  • (Depending on license) Accepts clinical responsibility for providing counseling services to a greater proportion of clients with multiple diagnoses, multiple external providers and/or multiple hospital admissions.
  • (Depending on license) Accepts responsibility to provide both training and supervision of students and those staff working towards independent licensure as dictated by the OCSWMFTB and directed by supervisor.
  • (Depending on license) Provides clinical supervision of staff upon expectation of supervisor.
  • (Depending on license) Provides crisis intervention services and is available for consultation.
  • (Depending on license) Assists in training and supervision of students and clinical supervision of staff upon expectation of supervisor.
  • (Depending on license) A licensed, independent practitioner may be assigned clinical supervision of a Clinical Therapist I.
  • Provides diagnostic assessments, treatment planning and completes necessary updates as required.
  • Types clinical documentation in the format appropriate and acceptable to Harbor and submits all documentation according to Harbor policy.
  • (Depending on license) Works with more complex cases, which may require more complex assessments for special populations.
  • May conduct home based Diagnostic Assessments, Individual and Group counseling in the home or other community setting if clinically indicated.
  • (Depending on license) Participates in individual and group supervision as indicated by supervisor. Receives and responds to supervisory meetings and guidance.
  • (Depending on license) Obtains supervisor's signature on all Diagnostic Assessments, treatment plans, discharge summaries and other documentation requiring co-signature for licensure.
  • In providing billable services, fulfills or exceeds unit expectations established by Harbor.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory performance on identified outcome measures and client satisfaction reports.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory performance on required Peer/Clinical Record Reviews and in the timely and accurate completion of Peer/Clinical Records Reviews for other staff.
  • Provides effective and efficient management of caseload.
  • The number of open inactive cases must not exceed 10% of the total caseload.
  • Participates in peer consultations, staff meetings and continuing education.
  • Facilitates referrals to appropriate internal and/or external resources where indicated.
  • Participates in agency-wide and departmental clinical research.
  • Participates in program development as requested and where possible.
  • Reviews “Authorizations to Disclose / Obtain Confidential Information” (ROIs/PHIs).
  • As required by the Clinical Manager, obtains/maintains Health Officer certification and provides pre-screening services.
  • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.

Clinical, independently licensed therapists will participate in at least 2 of the roles noted below.

  • Serves as a liaison to another agency by becoming the primary contact for the designated agency and will oversee coordination of services and problem solving as necessary.
  • Conducts at least one (1) formal or informal training each year for general staff or peers which is approved for CEUs.
  • Actively participates in at least one agency, program or site committee as openings become available.
  • Provides ongoing consultation and education service to individual and community groups as requested and possible and approved by supervisor.
  • Innovates and develops a new program or product line to serve clients.
  • Represents Harbor as a media presenter or speaker as requested by supervisor or as available through the Marketing department.
Requirements
  • Requires minimum of a Bacehlor's degree in Counseling, Social Work or a related Behavioral/Mental health field from an accredited college or university and 3 years of experience.
  • Requires a license to practice as a Social Worker/ Counselor in Ohio (LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC-S, PC, PCC, or PCC-S).
  • Must be honest, dependable, self-disciplined, organized and be able to work well as a team member.
  • Must have documented training and competency in DSM 5, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Must have good documentation, treatment and assessment skills. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and be deemed insurable through Harbor’s vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Must be proficient and accurate in computer use, including Microsoft Word.
  • CPR/First Aid and NCI/CPI Certifications Required within 90 days of employment.
