Description Doble Customer Care is currently seeking a Test Technician II who will perform testing, trouble shooting, calibration and repair in house on a variety of Doble test equipment. In this role, the successful candidate will also provide direct technical support to customers and channel partners. Based in our Watertown, Massachusetts office, the successful candidate will be a highly organized, self-directed individual with electronic technician skills and experience. The Test Technician II will interact with employees and customers from around the world; necessitating strong communication, technical and customer service skills.

Please note: this position is presently located in Watertown, MA but will be relocating to Marlborough, MA in the fall of 2019. All applicants must have reliable transportation to both locations. The Marlborough office will not be accessible via public transit.

Essential Job Functions

-Test/calibrate new production Doble test equipment
-Calibrate, upgrade, test, trouble shoot and repair customer owned and Doble leased test equipment
-Record all test, calibration, failure and repair information in the company customer relationship management tool.
-Assist customers/client with technical telephone support including remote troubleshoot of systems in the field
-Provide full in house repair, test, hardware and software upgrades, and calibration services on Doble test equipment
-Fulfill customer sales orders as required
-Make recommendations to improve quality or production test methods and processes
-Use analog & digital troubleshooting techniques and equipment to troubleshoot to board or sub-assembly level
-Train and mentor less senior test technicians
-Related duties as assigned by the Customer Care Manager

Decision-making Latitude

As a Test Technician II at Doble you will be providing a technical service to our valued customers. You will be required to make technical and quality related decisions on a daily basis. Further, you will communicate regularly with our customers/client and be the face of Doble during these interactions.


-High school diploma required; Electronic Technician Certificate required or additional work experience may be an acceptable substitute for the level of education checked above.

-Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Test Technician I or equivalent
-Proven system test level, trouble shooting and repair of power industry test equipment
-Experience with electronic test equipment, oscilloscope, DVM, frequency counters, etc.
-High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
-Ability to proactively and effectively communicate status & issues to internal and external customers
-Ability to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple priorities
-Must thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced team environment
-Excellent written and oral communications skills

Additional education may be an acceptable substitute for the required experience above.


-Familiar with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
-Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
-Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP a plus
-Proficiency with Salesforce CRM a plus
-Experience with test, upgrades, trouble shooting and repair of a variety of Doble test equipment a plus
-Experience with nuclear industry calibration requirements for test equipment
-Experience with power industry high voltage test equipment a plus


While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand for extended periods of time, bend, sit, walk, utilize oral and written communication to interact with co-workers, perform manual tasks which require arm strength and dexterity and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. The position involves the use of computers, reading, writing, use of fax machines, use of copy machines, and use of telephones.
