Description SUMMARY Markets and services commercial loans to bank customers. Represents the bank with professionalism both on the job and in the community by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develops commercial loan prospects from current customers, referral leads, and other sources. Makes calls with branch manager and also makes referrals to the branch manager from customer prospects.

Contacts prospective customers to present information on available commercial loan services.

Determines customers' financial services needs and prepares proposals to sell services. Prepares a credit summary that clearly and succinctly describes the strengths, weaknesses and risks associated with the credit.

Originates, processes, approves and closes commercial loan originations. Understands underwriting concepts and has the ability to analyze business financial statements and cashflows.

Attends community events, sales and trade meetings to develop new business prospects.

Makes presentations on financial and loan services to groups to attract new clients.

Responsible for accurate preparation of all forms, agreements, reports and documents required to close the loan and for filing all legal documents after the loan closing.

Contacts and follows up with each commercial loan customer to continue to provide financial and loan services.

Works with the Relationship Manager Assistants to ensure and expedite proper completion of all documents required for each loan.

Monitors and corrects commercial loan exceptions.

Contacts and collects past due commercial loans originated.

Promotes all other bank services and products to customers and prospective customers.


Requirements QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS Expertise with banking operations software applications and ability to use PC software including word processing, spreadsheets, email and intranet applications.

LANGUAGE and COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to read, write, and speak English. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

ANALYTICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical financial applications.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret financial institution regulations and a variety of business instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

SAFETY, SECURITY and CONFIDENTIALITY This position requires keeping complete confidentiality of all customer transactions and information, and paying close attention to security within and around the bank's premise at all times.
