Description Choice (http://choice360.org), a publishing unit of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL, a division of the American Library Association), and the publisher of Choice Reviews, the premier source for reviews of new English-language books and digital resources for academic libraries, is seeking a marketing manager to head its marketing and publicity efforts in both print and digital media.

Reporting to the publisher, the marketing manager serves as the Choice brand steward and manages all Choice marketing, customer acquisition and retention, public relations, and social media campaigns. He or she creates multi-channel marketing plans for brand awareness and for campaigns tied to specific product rollouts. Oversees audience and marketing campaign engagement, growth, retention, and performance metrics; creates and manages Choice promotion and marketing budget; schedules and manages trade show exhibits.

Salary: Negotiable from the mid-60s, based on relevant experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and retirement annuity.

Location: Choice is located in Middletown, CT. No option to work remotely.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years’ relevant work experience in a decision-making role with an academic publisher, association, or other media company. Essential skills include end-to-end understanding of promotional and marketing processes across print, digital, and social media channels; in-depth knowledge of social media usage and performance tracking; thorough understanding of marketing campaign analytics; disciplined budget management; and superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Understanding of the higher-education market and trends in academic libraries is highly desirable.
