Description YALSA, a division of the American Library Association (ALA) is seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Administrative Assistant will support the division projects, including, but not limited to updating web site content, distributing on-line press releases, assisting with the formulation of reports (grants, committee, survey, and others), providing onsite support for symposium, organize virtual and physical documents.

Key responsibilities include the following:

• Provide online support for website and social media.
• Communicate regularly with grantors, grantees, committee members, and other customers, both on the phone and in email
• Assist in developing draft reports to be reviewed and approved by the Executive Director.
• Create & schedule Tweets, Facebook messages, and blog posts about reading/learning.
• Seek out literacy, Young Adult literature, book, publisher, author, etc. organizations and “like” them from YALSA’s website, FB page, Twitter & Tumbler accounts
• Provide data entry to update the master list of recommended reading, receiving and organizing books sent by publishers.
• Serve as back-up contact for membership, publishers, and disseminating messages and materials including fliers, eNews content, and social media messages.

Salary: Negotiable from $20.00 an hour; based on relevant experience. This is a benefit eligible regular part-time position with travel required. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and retirement annuity.

Minimum one to three years’ related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Business Management or Non-Profit Management. Must have strong writing skills, project management skills, very good interpersonal and time management skills, strong work ethic, proficiency with MS Office, Google Suite, familiarity with social media, survey tools, zoom, and other project management software. Drupal experience a plus. Ability to travel for Symposiums and Conferences.
