Description The American Library Association is seeking two Senior Member/Customer Service Representatives to start immediately. This position serves as the first line of contact for addressing member/customer questions and challenges. Responsibilities include responding to member, customer and staff inquires quickly and accurately via telephone and email and processing payments for membership, subscriptions and registration in ALA database management system. The Senior Member/Customer Service Representative also sells membership, products, registrations, etc. by explaining the benefits to customers. The position also performs data entry/data quality assurance checks and works with the manager and director on projects that improve efficiency and improve the overall member/customer experience.

Starting salary range negotiable from $20 an hour, based on experience and qualifications. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes flexible work schedules, medical, dental, generous paid vacation and a retirement annuity.

Requirements
• One to three years front-line customer service experience, preferably in a membership organization. Some post-high school coursework or certification preferred.
• Advanced customer service skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communications skills, oral and written.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 360 required and experience with Ring Central is a plus.
• Experience with a relations database, such as an Association Management System (AMS) necessary.
• Strict attention to detail and top notch organizational skills.
• Problem solving skills, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and the willingness to pitch in to help other team members.
• Must work independently as well as being a team player and manage high volumes of inquiries.
