Description The American Library Association’s Development Office is seeking a full-time Development Coordinator. We are looking for a detail-oriented person to work on all aspects of gift processing, including gift entry and acknowledgement. The other part of the role includes prospect research and support for the ALA Development Office.

Reporting to the Director of the Office, the successful candidate will have three main areas of responsibility.

• Gift processing and donor acknowledgement. This person will share gift processing responsibilities, including gift entry; writing and producing thank you letters

• Prospect research. This person will conduct prospect research on individual, corporate and foundation prospects and prepare prospect and donor profiles.

• Additional support for donor cultivation and stewardship efforts by members of the Development Office. Could include working on mailings, responding to donor inquiries, helping the Development team prepare for conferences and donor meetings, and more.

SALARY: negotiable from the high 30s; based on relevant experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and retirement annuity.

Requirements
Minimum of three to four years relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Familiarity with fundraising or membership databases required (ALA uses iMIS); research experience; experience with Drupal a plus; detail oriented and a team player.
