Description The American Library Association, a large, information-based professional association’s IT department seeks a team-oriented Data Analyst, to support its growing databases and applications.

This position will:

- Interpret data results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.

- Design, develop, implement and identify analytical requirements – turning data into “actionable” business solutions.

- Assist staff with data extraction projects from the both the membership and financial databases and present data in a usable format.

- Respond to staff database questions, creation of new reports, and procedures.

- Take a lead role in integrating data from multiple data sources, including our current membership database.

The result is that ALA staff will be equipped with information and data that allow them to be more strategic/targeted in business strategies and outreach, increasing response rates and revenue while also delivering a more effective member experience.

Salary: negotiable from the mid- 60s, based on relevant experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and a retirement annuity.

Requirements
The qualified applicant must possess:

• Minimum of five years relevant experience working with large databases and applications. Bachelor’s degree – in mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing, finance, or computer science related fields.

• Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools, SQL queries, Crystal reports, Microsoft SSRS, SQL Server Management Studio, PowerBI, or equivalent work experience.

• Excellent communications skills: The ability to communicate technical topics effectively to non-technical professionals.

• Strong project management and teaming skills.

• Strong customer service focus and business insight.
