Description The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) division of the American Library Association is seeking a program coordinator. The program coordinator provides support for ACRL programs including member services, fundraising, professional development, consulting, book publishing, grants and other strategic initiatives.

Supports ACRL’s membership promotion, retention, and recruitment programs by adding content to ACRL web site, tracking membership statistics, coordinating ACRL membership booth reservations and volunteers; managing new and lapsed membership programs. Provides support for the ACRL consulting program by preparing and maintaining marketing higher education contacts. Coordinates the ACRL Diversity Alliance Program (invoices, profiles, web site).

Provides support for grants and special strategic initiatives as needed. Supports ACRL fundraising program by assisting with stewardship and annual fund solicitation activities. Provides support for the biennial conference (including VIP travel arrangements, checking data entry in the conference schedule database, preparing sign-ups using Sign-Up Genius, on-site registration, etc.) Assists other ACRL staff members with projects during “crunch times” (ACRL conference, Midwinter meeting, and Annual conference, Fall and Spring Board meetings).

Starting salary range from the high 30s; negotiable based on experience. ALA has an excellent benefit package that includes medical, dental, generous paid vacation and a retirement annuity.

Requirements
Minimum of three to four years of similar work experience, preferably with an association. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous project management experience.

Fluency with MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Access. Experience with member databases, preferably iMIS. Experience with online content management systems and html editing, preferably Drupal.

Sophisticated communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to deal with the public in a customer-service capacity. Attention to detail, ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills on both the interpersonal and technological level. Ability to successfully handle multiple on-going projects while adapting to changing (or unexpected shifts) in workflow. Excellent organizational ability while maintaining good internal communication. Willingness to provide back-up support to other staff. Some travel required.
